Bataillon Leib-Grenadier-Garde
Großherzogtum Baden, 1806–1815
The Baden Leib-Grenadier-Garde Bataillon served as a ceremonial guard battalion at the archduke’s palace in Karlsruhe. In times of war, the unit was part of the Rheinbund contingent committed to the Confederation of the Rhine by the Archduchy of Baden. The battalion had five companies of 150 all ranks. During the 1812 campaign against Russia the Baden Leib Grenadier Garde battalion was nominally attached to the French Imperial Guard. The 15 mm figuras shown here are from an unidentified manufacturer. The officer in bicornio is a 15 mm figure by Jacobite Miniatures, now manufactured and distributed by Stronghold Miniatures. The grenadiers are mounted on 28.5 mm wide and 12.5 mm deep company stands compatible with Empire III grand tactical miniature rules published by Scott Bowden.
