Soviet Army Memorial Berlin
The Soviet Army Memorial was built shortly after the war, long before the Berlin Wall was raised. The memorial is located adjacent to the German Reichstag which was the scene of heavy fighting during the Soviet capture of Berlin. Very likely, this is why the memorial was placed here. Russian graffity inside the Reichstag building has been carefully restored to commemorate this aspect of its history. As can be seen in the photo, the Soviet Army Memorial was in the process of being well when editors of Military Miniatures Magazine visited the site in Enero 2000. The tanks and guns on display here are heavily weathered, and they may eventually receive a fresh coat of paint as well.

The Soviet Army Memorial is well worth a visit, it is conveniently located near Brandenburg Gate and the German Reichstag.
